I see dead people

The catacombs were built just after Paul's shipwreck on this island in the 1st century and looted by pirates long ago. They were important for worship and were the largest communal cemetary of the early Christian Age. Apparently the entire island population could seek shelter in these underground caverns in case of religious persecution.
