Clinton Lane 1

Looking through some old photographs of the midlands in a local picture shop, we recently came across several images of Clinton Lane as it looked close to the turn of the last century. Our house is on the left, near the end of the row. Here is the oldest photo we found, judged by the bricks piled on the left and the size of the tree on the right. We're amazed by the number of children in this picture. Cameras must have been a rare sight.

These photos are amazing, mesmerizing. Long-ago moments in people's lives, taking place where you experience your present-day reality, with ruins of an even more ancient and mysterious past in the distance. It just draws the imagination into a mind-boggling numbness of fascination and wonder. Love, Mom (Grandma)
