Contrasts

Spring in Ontario is an odd beast: 24 degrees one day, 8 the next. The basement is full of piles of winter clothes that have nearly, almost, made it into storage, and yet the sun screen has resumed its place of honour by the porch door. As part of our attempt to eat locally, Heather is slowly moving her seedlings outside into the raised beds that Josh built. Jamie helps plant 'little carrots, oh, sooo cute!' and finds plenty of worms.

We had what we hope was our last fire of the season, which had both kids enthralled. It was a great way to burn off some of the sticks and twigs that we collected last fall, warm the house on a cold Victoria Day, and get cozy to comfort Jamie and daddy with their runny-nose colds.
