Christmas in Australia on a scorching summer's day

Christmas Eve at the Douglas' has always included a reading of Davey and the First Christmas. This was the grandkids' first time through it, but they'll eventually be beating Pa to the punchlines just like Heather and Brian always did.

The older they are, the higher the anticipation! Jackson, at two, is blithely trying on his cousin's Uggs.

Santa managed to find Jamie and Justin and left photos of the GT Snow Racers waiting for them at home. They were duly impressed.

Josh entertained the kids while the rest of us recovered from the gift extravaganza.

We ate a great feast and then, after Leanne and Brian's crew moved on to their round two, finished off the day at the beach.
