Busselton Run and Jetty Swim

Since acquiring a Fitbit step counter last June, Josh has been more active than ever before. Increased step-counting activity has translated into walking to and from work in Canada (30 min each way), Australia (50 min each way), and eventually France (40 min each way), in addition to jogging 5-10 km every 2-3 days. Some people might think this looks a lot like a midlife crisis, perfectly timed ahead of Josh's 40th, and those same people would be correct.

Busselton organized a run coinciding with the annual Jetty swim. Josh competed in the 10 km run and was pleased with his time of 41:41 (first 10 km for Josh was in Waterloo in October, with a time of 42:42). As fun as this run was for Josh, the Jetty Swim on Sunday morning was remarkable. Imagine >1700 swimmers all pouring into the water to swim out 2 km, following the jetty, to then swim back 2 km to the finish line on the shore.
And, as the swimmers raced, we cheered and walked along the jetty. It was exhausting just watching them... Such a great weekend - and thanks to everyone who came to cheer Josh on his run!
