Ferries

Since we spent a total of two full days on ferries we've included a photo of our creative survival tactics. By rigging the umbrella in our pack we were able to enjoy the wind and views without getting completely fried. Heather was reading "A Widow for a Year" by John Irving (she rated it 6/10) and Josh read a 'boring' book about biology (he rated it 8/10). We're always looking for new books - any suggestions?!

Hi Heather (and Josh!) - you finally made it to Greece! It's positively gorgeous. I too didn't find "A Widow for One Year" particularly inspir(ed/ing). Might I suggest A Brief History of Nearly Everything (Bill Bryson), Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World (Haruki Murakami), The Bone People (Keri Hulme) and the Lady's Number 1 Detective Agency (series) by Alexander McCall Smith?
Wish I was where you are...

We both liked Bone People - we'll be looking out for your other suggestions. Thanks - Josh. (Keep 'em coming!)

Thought of 2 others, both by Carl Hiaasen:
Sick Puppy (about a deranged environmentalist, had me in stitches) and Strip Tease (the book the movie was based on, who knew?)

Hi Heather and Josh!
I miss you guys. I wish the world was just a little smaller. Since Nat and I have been sharing libraries, I agree with her suggestions, but also try White Teeth by Zadie Smith and the Vintner's Luck by Elizabeth Knox. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for that conference in England in March. Take care, I hope we see each other soon.

Hey guys, Chris here. I just finished "Shake Hands With The Devil", which I highly recommend - although it's not exactly an uplifting read.

Miss you guys - Seth and Laura just left too of course, so the "inner circle" has been scattered. We just moved to Kerrisdale, and are unpacking - we're at Balsam and 42nd.
