This really was a German cultural weekend for us. On Saturday we enjoyed the sunshine and relative warmth, wandering around the Kenilworth countryside with our German friends from Josh's work. The walk was essentially a calorie burning activity in preparation for the traditional
Grünkohl und Pinkel meal (Green kale and Oat/meat sausages) that Hendrik and Dorothea prepared for us. This dish was unbelievable, and only paralleled by another
Austrian meal that Josh so fondly remembers. Heather kept saying that it reminded her of the Dutch "
Boerenkool Stamppot" her mom used to make.
