Coalseam

Some things never change. Pretty much from when they were just old enough to walk, Heather and Brian have gone on walks looking for rocks or other 'earthly' treasures. And even earlier, Heather's first memory is being passed from Mom to Dad UP a rock cliff in Algonquin Park. So it may come as no surprise that both Heather and Brian are now trained as field geologists. Here we went looking for a coal seam and fossils in an old river bed at a place imaginatively named 'Coalseam'. While we somehow missed seeing the coal before the outback heat drove us away, we did see some nice fossils from between 65 and 250 million years ago when the ocean intermittently covered the area.
