...a lot like Christmas

How does one prepare for a white Christmas in Canada? We figured that a good way to start was by going out to fetch ourselves a real tree (CO2 in/CO2 out, no harm done?). We discovered the nearby Benjamin Tree Farm and stumbled around cold and crying (some of us) in the dark until we found the right tree to drag home and decorate the next day. The bonus 'hidden camera' video below shows Jamie discovering the tree on Friday morning. Her descriptions (if you listen carefully) were, "pretty" and "big". The rest of the video involves extensive smelling of the tree.

Fantastic. We just picked up a tree this afternoon, and I'm not sure how Sam will react. So far he's not so interested in the tree itself, but he's obsessed with the needles on the carpet. He rakes them with his hands, and picks them up and runs around excited.

What a beautiful & festive home! Your living room looks so warm and inviting. I wish we could plug in our Christmas tree for more than a few seconds at a time (must not waste precious battery power per Calvin)!
