Day 2
And a HUGE thank you to everyone for all the comments and emails we've received. We feel so supported and are overwhelmingly appreciative. And we are also grateful for the meals we've been given and offered by our friends, neighbors, and fellow 'Gig'ites.
He's quiet now, it's late, goodnight...
P.S. He's starting to open his eyes a little but it's rare - he doesn't appreciate light. The midwife said this is more common in boys. Has anyone else noticed this with their kids?

on a completely non-baby related note... what model Dell laptop is that in the background. I have a 9400 (the big monster screen one...)
I never noticed how much or how little my guys kept their eyes open. Of course Micah spent his first couple of days in the NICU with bright lights on all the time, so I'm sure his eyes were closed most of the time. Hard to remember little details like those after 5 1/2 years. It's amazing how quickly we forget things! That's why it's so important to write things down!
On another note, I wish that I had known more about midwives when I had my two kids. It sounds like you guys are being well looked after!
Lots of love to you guys! Can't wait to meet Justin, and to see Jamie again!!!
Meghan
I have no idea what my little guy did as a baby...sigh... But he sure keeps his eyes open a lot now! Almost all day, in fact. ;) He is soooooo cute, I hope you get a picture of his eyes soon, are they beautiful blues like Jamie's?
Cara
Hey Aaron - Dell Inspiron 1501 (budget home workhorse).
Hey Meghan - yes, midwives are lovely experts given that childbirth is all they do...
Hey Cara - Jamie's eyes have turned into Heather's hazely-green hybrids, but we're wondering if Justin might keep the blues...
Josh.
I dunno. Amelia seemed to sleep all the time in the NICU with the lights on her first weeks of life. When we came home she loved to look at the christmas lights. Even now she prefers lights to any toys. Go figure.
