Sinter Klaas

In the Dutch tradition, a lot of the gift-giving happens on Sinter Klaas night, when kids put their shoes before the fire, and Sinter Klaas comes by on his horse to fill them with cookies, licorice, and little presents. Who better than Oma to introduce our kids to this heritage?
Jamie was primed for singing the song, and proved herself a pro now at removing wrapping from both presents and chocolate, learning quickly from the big cousins. She even has a taste for black licorice!

Jamie Roo, your Sinter Klaas song delighted us so much we listened to you about 5 times in a row - thank you! Hope you got lots of chocolate and how about more candy canes? You can never have too many snacks, you know. Tell mommy. Much love from Nan and Pa

Good work on the singing Jamie - that might be the cutest video ever.

Heath, could you email me your address - I may or may not get to writing Christmas cards before Christmas this year but I'm optimistic.

Brilliant - I love tradition. It means a lot to me. Wonderful looking tree also. Wish we could do that whole thing. We have fun rooting through the hundred of stacked trees at the garden centre but somehow this seems more fun.
