Lovely holiday
A visit from some of our British friends prompted us to rent a cottage near Sandbanks for a week for our first proper Ontario getaway. Filled with fruit stands, wineries, breweries, cafes and other culinary delights, the area is now on our list of potential retirement locations. Rich and Clare carted Elliot around to sample many of the above, but most days we decided life was easier with our two kids if we just stuck to the beach. Jamie swam to her heart's content, Justin dug big holes, and Elliot sat in them.

We all found our different ways to relax. Josh climbed the silo (only about 1/4th of the way), Clare followed her nose to wineries and cheese shops, Rich stole the kids' bike for some wheelies, Heather made good use of the clawfoot tub, Justin drove the firetruck that sat in the yard (!!), Elliot tried to climb every ladder in the place, and Jamie cuddled any of the two dozen farm cats that would let her catch them.

Thank you, Rich and Clare, for making the trip. It was fantastic to spend time with you! Now who can we lure out here for next summer?

Lovely head you found on the beach there, you should get it stuffed and put on the wall.
