As is becoming routine, we went down to Warwick Hospital on Monday for an ultrasound. We were asked to go because the midwives, who visit every two weeks, measured Heather's bump and suggested that it was a little too small. We weren't nervous though, Heather's mom had the same 'problem', having a smaller belly than the norm. As usual, we asked the ultrasound technician for a blog photo, which she gladly gives us without charge, but the baby is officially too large to be remotely recognizable by ultrasound. She had to keep assuring us: that's its body, that's its leg, etc. We thanked her politely for the pictures but have no idea what is featured in them.
Afterwards, since the amniotic fluid seemed a little 'reduced' (possibly a normal fluctuation), the midwives at the hospital hooked us up to a monitor for 30 minutes so that we could listen to the baby's heartbeat and press that little button whenever Heather felt a kick. They can apparently tell if the baby is stressed by doing this, a possible result of low fluid. However, the diagnosis was that the heartbeat reflected a very healthy and mobile baby, much to our relief and Heather's occasional discomfort.

Yay! I'm the first to leave a comment for this picture! What to say... What to say... Wow! I'm so excited for you guys! And it sounds like the baby is being well looked after! Heather, your 'bump' looks good to me!! I wish that I could be there to see the baby after he/she is born! We'll have to talk more about coming for a visit :)
Love, Aunty Meggie
Now THERE'S a picture of the bump! Why, I could hardly see it in that beach shot posted earlier... Glad to hear that everything is going well.
I love these types of pictures of Heather, because I can just imagine the expression on Josh's face that is causing the reaction on Heather's! Keep 'em coming.
