Green light

We've been visiting the hospital twice a week for the past month. They've kept a close eye on the womb since the amniotic fluid has been low. Today was the big appointment. At 8 months, they wanted to do a thorough check and decide whether we should be allowed to wait for a natural delivery. Well, after much prodding and scanning they gave us the thumb's up. That's one healthy and chubby-cheeked little critter. And it's big - already tipping the scales at 3 kg (6 pounds, 9 ounces). We've posted several scans on our blog but this will likely be the last - our next scan is scheduled for April 25th, the due date.
P.S. We're fairly convinced it's a boy. It kicks a lot, hiccups a lot, has a slower heartbeat than is common for a girl, and Heather's belly rides high. The midwives agree, saying that based on that information, there's a 50% probability of us being right.

I'm still trying to figure out which one of you your baby resembles most...

Very glad to hear all is well. Based on those odds, are we going to see pictures soon of a blue nursery and 'it's a boy' balloons everywhere? :)

Yeah for natural birth! Answered prayers, there. It's hard to believe you're in the "t-minus one month" stage! Love you guys.

ummm here is a piece of research I picked up in baby academics. 75% of moms are correct when they guess the gender of their baby. So maybe you have better than the 50/50 odds of being correct.
Can't wait to see an actual picture of the baby! Soon!
Love and miss you,
Laura

Guys,

I'm just getting all caught up on your entries b/c I lost the address. I have been thinking of you a lot since I flipped the calendar over to April. We thought Isabelle was a boy for sure...in fact, the funniest moment of labour was when the doctor said "It's a girl!" and I replied, in between heavy breaths, "Are you sure?????"
