Baby penguin

She really didn't know what to make of it. Daddy worked at home, mommy kept wanting to play outside and both of them bundled her up in this ridiculous outfit. Jamie just sat (or lay) in the snow, decidedly nonplussed with the experience. Her parents had fun though!

CANADA, HERE WE COME! Adorable! I guess she is "nonplussed" (loved learning about the definition - thanks for the link) because she has not yet figured out what every Canadian child discovers before you know it - that all that white stuff is EDIBLE!

Do you not use the word nonplussed in Canada?

"Nonplussed" good word. Seth enjoys words like that. We are snowed in here in Illinois. 8 inches and still coming!

Oh we use lots of big words in Canada. 2+ syllables for many of them!

Hi Josh and Heather, just having a peek at your blog as Jack and Kat haven't updated theirs recently. A little bemused when I clicked on your useful link for 'nonplussed'. If I have interpreted the definition correctly , does it mean that North Americans might use the term 'plussed' to mean they are surprised or perturbed? A puzzle! Anyway I love the pics of your family. Hope you don't mind me looking in?.

Good question Sue! And to be completely inconsistent, the short answer is 'no'. As far as we know.

Thanks for looking in on our family. Such a weird way to be connected, eh?

Will this be your first experience as a grandparent? Do you feel ready?

Yes, totally inexperienced as a grandparent but really looking forward to the new arrival. Definitely ready emotionally but hope Kat doesn't go into labour before the work on our double glazing is finished in early March.
Thanks for your response. Best wishes to you all.
Sue.

I always post behind the updates...do you ever notice them? Interesting note on the word "plus"...in Dutch it means a vulgar word for peeing :)

Trust me to know the bad words!

Hey Matt and Sonja,
We get an email update every time someone comments, but c'mon, get with the program!
Trust the dutch to take a perfectly normal word and make it rude. Sheesh.
