As those of you who have lived with any sort of a teacher will know, September can be crazy. It can be hectic-but-fun crazy, or it can descend into a sort of madness that you ease out of sometime after Christmas. Our little family is carefully balancing on the brink of that difference, now that Josh is teaching his new course and submitting grant proposals, Justin is sort-of crawling, and Heather and the kids are trying to make the most of the beautiful fall weather before winter forces us indoors.
We've been spending a lot of time at parks lately. Enough time that Justin now knows not to eat sand, and Jamie has deemed some of the playgrounds 'boring'. Mommy gets to read and have a coffee, only having to leap to her feet once in a while to help Jamie negotiate a tricky climb, or extricate a stick from Justin's pudgy little paw.

Yes, I know what September is like...
I just wanted to give a shout out to Justin for not eating sand! Finn didn't figure this one out until he was at least a year.
SO CUTE!!! The picture of Justin sitting next to Jamie just tugged at my heartstrings - you have two little preschoolers now (rather than one preschooler and one baby)!!! And I miss them both! They are growing up so fast! The close-up of Justin is SO beautiful, with so much character! And the mention of Jamie already finding some playgrounds boring is hilarious! Reminds me of our walk at Frontenac Provincial Park, when she kept wondering when we were going to arrive at the park!!! Anyway, I'm glad we've been having some nice weather for you lately, to make the coping a little easier! Love you all so much!
p.s. gorgeous sunflower picture - is it from your garden?!
Not from our garden, but one just down the street that Jamie calls 'the jungle'. Ours is nearly at jungle status...
What is with Justin's calm hair? I miss the "jet boy" do!
Ellen- his hair must have been dirty! And if you look closely, you can see the wave in a couple of the pictures. It's still there, never you worry. Sure to cause him grief in his teens.
