We Help Mommy!

In Heather's box of saved childhood things was the book "We Help Mommy", one that she has always strangely enjoyed despite its uncomfortable 1950s portrayal of Mommy doing the housework and cooking, and Daddy reading the paper at breakfast. And the kids help Mommy! Our "day jobs" aside, we've worked hard to share the roles and responsibilities of child raising and housekeeping. But, this blog post will reinforce the stereotypes we try not to portray. So, all that preamble aside, here are two recent pictures showing how our kids "help" Mommy and Daddy: (above) Jamie with the dress that she and Mommy sewed for her beloved bunny, and (below) Jamie and Daddy extracting DNA from a banana using her DNA kit from Grandma and Grandpa.
Oh, and with the abrupt end of summer (11C outside now!), below is a photo lament for summer delights.

Just catching up on my blog reading (just a bit busy here last week with Brent and family over here - 6 kids 4 and under equaled near chaos..) It looks like you the Neufelds had a great summer. Glad to see that Jamie is set to follow in her mother and fathers' mad scientist foot paths (I say this with great affection).
