Amazing, I watched exactly the same match last night while I was in the bar having a quick beer with my colleagues. I saw the extra time goal, it was quite good.
Welcome to North America, Rich, where the Stanley Cup means a lot more to people than the World Cup. I know, wierd...
And Yes, Josh, I'm super-jealous.
Dad was watching the game much of the evening, and when Edmonton got a penalty in overtime, he got up in disgust for a pee break. I, on the other hand, who meandered into the living room when overtime started, and really don't care all that much about the Stanley Cup (and even less about the World Cup), got to see the goal - and to call out to Dad that he'd missed it. Poor Dad!
Ugh.
I couldn't hate hockey more. I also couldn't understand hockey-lovers less. (Mom, your story is hilarious. Good example of irony.)
Right now Sharon and I are being made to endure small-town Kingston's obsession with "KINGSTON IS HOCKEYVILLE". We are mortified and want to die.
Actually, Sharon just informed me that Kingston has actually lost the competition. I now have a reason to go on living.
Oh c'mon Caits, try watching a game. I dare you. At least watch game 7. It'll be huge. EVERYONE will be watching in hockeyville...
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORINGGGGGG!
I can think of 7,875,372 better ways to spend an afternoon or evening, which include:
- picking my nose
- cutting Sharon's toenails
- vacuuming
- smelling
and
- doing nothing at all
Sorry Josh, I would have to agree with Caits on this one...except for the picking the nose thing. Although, I will give hockey some credit - watching a game in person can be lots of fun! The excitement of the crowd is contagious.
