Evolving
Justin received a pair of hockey skates and a helmet for Christmas. He thought, as any reasonable two-year-old might, that they would transform him into a hockey player the second he stepped onto the ice behind Grandma and Grandpa's house. So we went from this (crying):
To this (grumpy):
To tonight, when we skated on a friend's backyard rink, and he not only gamely skated with a toy shopping cart for support, but suddenly exclaimed "I don't need it" and began to skate around, all on his own, getting up from his falls without our help! We were wonderfully surprised to see this confidence and self-assurance suddenly bloom. Well done, our big hockey guy!

WAY-TO-GO, JUSTIN! That is so incredibly amazing!!! We are so excited, and so proud of you! Skating on your own at 2 years old!!! WOW! Love you, Sweetheart! from Grandma and Grandpa
you guys are SO Canadian. Looks like fun!
Justin, you are the most handsome two year old nICE skater I have ever seen! You certainly take after your Dad! Love you. GGdad
Wow - that's great Justin! We BC folk decided to take Finn to a rink to attempt skating for the first time. 'Skating' would be a generous term, and Mike's back took a beating, but he had fun.
